As day 2 of training come around I thought i should try running outdoors, the main worry was just how hot it was as England is in the middle of a heat wave. I met Christelle in the car park behind the maidenhead sports center and we set off north from Maidenhead on a route planned on MapMyRun.
The run was scheduled for 30 minutes, and I decided to cap my HR at 170bpm, the last time I did this was the week before the Bluewater 10k and completed only 3.9km in 30 minutes, so this was a good chance to see if the last few weeks in teh gym had got me any fitter.
We quickly discovered how an aerial route planned on a website differs from reality and found ourselves runnign through the middle of a corn field as the path we were on ended at a quarry and could nto continue. So instead of the nice loop we had planned we looped back to home after about 15 minutes. All was going good it seemed a lot longer into teh run before my watch was beeping to say my HR was too high and it did feel like I was running faster.
We managed abotu 4.4km in teh 30 minutes so much better than just 3 weeks earlier, and we ended up runnign for 36 minutes which worked out as 5km. The last 6 minutes my HR beeped more than it did not, and i felt a little sick at the end.
